All projects below were self-taught. Now currently in ME 423 Lab; more projects soon.
VR6 Engine
This was my first and ambitious project: creating a model VR6 engine. The difficulty of this project is what makes the VR6 engine unique, as its cylinder bores are offset 15 degrees from the engine block; the first engine in the world to do so. Each part (engine block, oil pan, crankshaft, piston head, connecting rod, and connecting pin) had to be created separately, while ensuring a correct and tight fit. Certain parts, such as the connecting rod, had to be redesigned to accommodate the tolerances of PLA. Instead of using an end bearing, a snap-to-fit design was employed.
Time constraint
My second project was to make a toy airplane with the constraint of finishing it within one hour. All made with SolidWorks online 😁.
